What is QwikVu?

Now that you know exactly what I’m talking about, let’s get started with the quick brief for the tutorial.

Brief:Let’s say that Jim Dozer from Dozers Inc. commissioned you to design a brand new website and corporate identity and you are on the brink of finishing off the project. You want to showcase your designs and display them optimally so that the client can’t say that there is any blur, display problems etc. So you decide to use QwikVu to display your design mockups, you have never worked with QwikVu, but heard that it is really easy to setup and navigate. So what now?

That is why I’m here, to show you just how easy it is to work this application and make the best of your web design projects. Let’s get started.

Step 1

Open up your web browser of choice and navigate to QwikVu.com and enter your details to signup for a FREE account. Once you signed up, you will be sent a confirmation email that you signed up with your username and password. Keep those details safe: otherwise you won’t be able to get back into your account.

Step 2

Now that you are logged into your account you will see that you have a empty backend with no created galleries just yet.

You will need to navigate to the “New Gallery” tab in the right hand top corner and a new page will open where you need to input the gallery properties for your new mockup display. Firstly you will start with your client details and then the title of your project. You can them customize the url as you see fit for the project too. You do have the option to password protect the mockup and we always do as it’s a private matter. Next up you will need to choose your background color and image alignment.

The final step before creating your gallery is uploading your mockup images that you will be displaying to the client. You can upload and display more than one image at a time in the galleries and that gives you the ability to cover a lot of ground for the preview purposes of the project. Hit the “Choose Images” tab and then select your images to upload. Use your CTRL button on your keyboard to select more than one image at a time. Once you have selected your image for upload hit the open button and they will be added to the que of your gallery. This is what I have so far. I hit the “NEXT” tab after I was happy with all my information.

Step 3

Once you hit the next button and your images were uploaded you will be presented by the image editing screen which allows you to upload more images, shuffle, rename, delete and align your mockup images before configuring the last part of the gallery creation process. Once you are happy with your changes, hit the “Finished” tab.

You will now be presented with a newly created gallery in the gallery screen section which displays your currently created galleries. The beauty of this gallery screen is that it gives you the ability to share, edit, preview and delete your galleries as you see fit. You also have statistics that’s viewable so you will know if the client actually viewed the mockups and if they added any notes to the mockups or not.

Step 4

Now that you have your new gallery created, it’s time to share it with your client. Click the little mailbox icon titled “Share” and then make sure all the details are right before you send it to your client. Once you have entered everything correctly and said what you wanted to say, it’s time to ship off the email.

Step 5

What will the client be seeing when they view the email you might ask? Well let’s have a look. They will navigate to the proposed url and be greeted by a password protected box where they will have to enter their password for the gallery. Once that is entered and correct, the first mockup will be visible. Your client will have the ability to download the mockups, add notes and share the files again.
