Creative people tend to have their most productive times in set parts of the day. I know some designers that love working in the morning and then others that love working through the night. Every person is different and therefore have different times that they see as their most productive working hours. I’m one of those people that love working into the early morning hours, simply because I’m surrounded by silence and no disturbances. I tend to get a lot more work done when I’m alone and surrounded by silence and no disturbances.

Are you one of those people that love working in the morning or late at night? What is your most productive part of the day?

My most productive time of the day is most definitely the early morning hours. As Jacques said I love being surrounded by silence and no disturbances, well apart from my music but that is for inspiration!

Just because you like some part of the day doesn’t mean you’re most productive at that time. I’m a night person and love working through the nights, but I’ve figured my productivity peak is early in the morning, before eating breakfast.

im most productive late at night. mainly because i just wanna get whatever it is over with so i dont goof around and waste time. but i always try my best to finish most of my work sometime between 10am and 2 pm cause otherwise i cannot go out or do anything and i just go down =S

I’d say mornings but I’m not a morning person :). So realistically I’m more productive during nights because I am awake and work throughout the night.

…an interesting question I am wrestling with at the moment actually. 9-5 simply does not work for me because I am useless in the afternoons…
My best work happens either between 03:00 – 11:00 in the morning OR (lately) 23:00 – 02:00 at night. (Which is strange because I am definitely a morning person…) The quiet internet and lack of disturbances definitely does help! But I think it also has a lot to do with your body’s natural energy rhythms. I am thinking of “officially” changing around my office hours so I don’t have to work in the afternoons. Creativity is a fragile thing that should be nurtured and not over-worked into oblivion. Take time off, make time…

My head office is in Prague – six hours ahead so I’m most productive at about 1am to get stuff to them in the morning ! (simon at http://www.pixmac.com in Toronto)

I would have to say that my most productive part of the day is anytime before 2:30PM. I’ve usually had lunch by then and slow down again until about 4PM or so.

I really like getting up early on Saturdays and jumping into a project. Some people find that strange but I find that its actually very relaxing and I get a lot done.
